Struggling to synthesize a scenario for 2028, I asked Claude's Fable to take a shot at it, and this is what it produced--not a likely scenario, but plausible.
Well, I must say I was most impressed with Claude (and Claudette) when I read the first part because the subhead had led me to believe that the personal stuff at the beginning was written by AI also!!! I was relieved when I realized for sure I was wrong and a little flummoxed by the fact I had thought it in the first place.
I don't use Fable yet. The version I have the old Sonnet 5 Medium which assured me I don't need anything stronger for what I do. (Although when I got an eblast about the latest latest model Sonnet 5 said to be very suspicious because it wasn't aware of it!)
As far as your actual Claude prediction piece, it's certainly readable and sounds like your kind of analysis with the occasional blip. In particular I'm used to more psychological/psychopathology of the players than is here.
At times like this I tend to say, OK, in 250-400 words give me a global refutation of this entire approach.
Overall, I'm glad I've given Claude strict instructions not to ever write for me or ask follow-up questions. Enjoy your travels. .
I'm glad my casual prose seems better than Claude's. I think this is my last experiment with turning the page over to it. It can do what it does, and almost certainly will be able to provide readable copy indistinguishable from human readable copy, of the sort I used to write for Newsweek, re-writing reporters' files to the magazine's formula, to then be edited at least twice more before copy was final. But if nothing else, AI is reminding us of the virtues of the human, which you do a grear job of recounting in all that you write.
It's cool to be in Porto--we lucked out with an Airbn that perches over an extensive but small wooded area, and on this verhandah in the night cool I could be in Green River. Your recent episodes, along with being where decriminalization had its main success, has made me think to return to that domain, which I actually know something about, unlike foreign affairs.
